Shop genuine OEM parts for the Northrock PRO 3HP 25L3 electric concrete vibrator motor. Click any numbered callout on the diagram below to jump to the exact part. Part numbers match the official Northrock PRO 1.5HP / 2HP / 3HP vibrator motor parts list.

The PRO 3HP 25L3 is Northrock's heavy-duty motor, built for precast production, low-slump concrete, continuous-duty operation, and long shaft runs where the 1.5HP and 2HP motors would overheat. It runs at higher amp draw (19 A on a 20 A circuit), so several parts are unique to the 3 HP build — always verify the part number against your motor before ordering.

DanseUSA is an authorized Northrock dealer. Orders placed before 12 PM ET ship same business day when in stock. Not sure which part? Email [email protected] with your motor's model and serial number.

How to Use the Diagram

Match the Ref # on the exploded view to the row in the parts list. Click the callout → product page → add to cart. Always replace wear parts (brushes, bearings, seals) in pairs.

Most Commonly Replaced Parts on the PRO 3HP (25L3)

About 80% of PRO 3HP service issues come down to these six parts. Continuous-duty operation wears brushes and bearings faster than on the smaller motors — diagnose in this order before replacing anything larger:

Ref # Part P/N Typical Life Symptom
8 Brush (pair) 490A1 150–350 hrs Weak under load, heavy sparking, burn smell
17 Air Filter 470B1 40 hrs Motor runs hot, thermal cutout
5 Ball Bearing (pair) 140C300 400–1,200 hrs Grinding, squealing, shaft wobble
14 Grounded Power Cord 505B1 As needed Nicks, cracked jacket, bad plug
11 Electric Switch 425B1 As needed Mushy, sticks, won't toggle cleanly
12 Water-Resistant Switch Seal 430A1 Replace with switch Water intrusion, visible wear

Repair Tips

Brush replacement (Ref #8, P/N 490A1)

Unplug cord. Remove outer protective brush cap (400C1) and brush cap (500A1). Pull old brush. If carbon is under 1/4" or cracked, replace both brushes as a pair. Check commutator for glazing — light glaze is OK, grooves or pits mean the armature needs service. The PRO 3HP wears brushes faster than the smaller motors due to higher amp draw; check every 150 hours on continuous-duty applications. Reinstall caps finger-tight plus 1/8 turn.

Bearing replacement (Ref #5, P/N 140C300)

Two sealed bearings, one at each end of the armature. Always replace as a pair. Before running the motor again, pull the flex shaft core and check lubrication — a dry core cooks new bearings within 50 hours, and the PRO 3HP is often run with long shafts and connector setups that consume more driveline power. Apply a 1/16" coat of lithium grease to the core; do not over-grease.

Model-specific parts — the PRO 3HP has more unique parts than the 1.5HP or 2HP

Because the 3 HP motor runs at 19 A (versus 13 A and 15 A for the smaller motors), multiple components are upgraded and not interchangeable:

  • Motor Housing (105AG1) — 3 HP only. The 1.5HP and 2HP use 105AD1.
  • End Bell Housing (420D1) — 3 HP only. The 1.5HP and 2HP use 420B1.
  • Armature (475C1) — 3 HP only. The 1.5HP uses 475B1; the 2HP uses 475A1.
  • Field (480C1) — 3 HP only. The 1.5HP uses 480B1; the 2HP uses 480A1.
  • Grounded Cord (505B1) — 3 HP only; heavier gauge with 20 A plug. The 1.5HP and 2HP use 505A1.
  • Strain Relief (435B1) — 3 HP only; larger profile. The 1.5HP and 2HP use 435A1.
  • Air Filter (470B1) — 3 HP only; larger filter area for continuous-duty cooling. The 1.5HP and 2HP use 470A1.
  • Air Filter Cover (215X1) — 3 HP only. The 1.5HP and 2HP use 215N1.
  • Frame Assembly (440D1) — 3 HP only. The 1.5HP and 2HP use 440C1.

Before ordering any of these model-specific parts, confirm the existing part number on your motor. A 2 HP armature installed in a 3 HP housing will burn out in minutes under load.

Power cord + strain relief replacement (Ref #14, #15)

Do not tape damaged cords. Replace any cord with nicks, cracked jacket, or plug damage. On the 25L3, the grounded electric cord (505B1) and the water-tight strain relief (435B1) are separate parts — replace them together whenever either fails. Never substitute the lighter 505A1 cord from the PRO 1.5HP or 2HP — it will overheat under the 19 A load.

Switch + switch seal (Ref #11, #12)

Always replace the electric switch (425B1) and the water-resistant switch seal (430A1) together. A compromised seal lets water into the switch cavity and shorts the motor.

Air filter service (Ref #17, P/N 470B1)

Inspect every 40 hours. Replace when gray with embedded concrete dust. Never run the motor without the filter installed. The PRO 3HP uses a larger filter (470B1) than the smaller motors to provide adequate cooling for continuous-duty operation. Do not substitute the smaller 470A1 — it will not flow enough air to keep the 3 HP motor within thermal limits.

Maintenance Schedule

  • Every shift: Inspect cord, plug, switch, housing. Clean concrete dust off exterior.
  • Every 40 hrs: Clean or replace air filter.
  • Every 50 hrs: Pull flex shaft core, inspect, re-grease with lithium grease (1/16" coat max).
  • Every 150 hrs (continuous duty) or 200 hrs (intermittent): Check brush length through service port cap (400B1). Replace pair if worn.
  • Every 500 hrs: Inspect commutator for glazing or grooving.
  • Annually (heavy use): Replace ball bearings.

Electrical Requirements (19 A draw)

The PRO 3HP requires a 20 A circuit with a NEMA 5-20R T-slot receptacle — it will not run on a standard 15 A household outlet. If using a generator, size above 2,500 running watts with a 20 A outlet.

Extension Cord Sizing

Cord length Minimum AWG
0–25 ft 12 AWG
26–50 ft 10 AWG
51–100 ft Not recommended

Outdoor cords must be marked W-A (e.g. SOW-A). 3-conductor grounded only. Use a GFCI in damp conditions. Undersized cords are the #1 cause of burned PRO 3HP motors — voltage drop at 19 A forces the motor to draw even more current to maintain RPM, which cooks brushes, armature windings, and the field coil. Never run the PRO 3HP on 14 AWG cord regardless of length.

Shaft & Head Compatibility

Head diameter range

The PRO 3HP is rated for the full Northrock head range — 3/4" through 2-1/2". Approved head sizes: 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2", and 2-1/2". Unlike the PRO 2HP, the PRO 3HP holds rated vibration frequency (~10,000 VPM) on the largest heads under heavy load — making it the correct motor for low-slump mixes, precast plants, and continuous-duty production where a 2 HP motor would bog down and overheat.

Shaft lengths

Compatible with Northrock standard-duty shafts (stiffer, better poking control) and pencil shafts (more flexible, for 3/4" and 1-1/4" heads in rebar-dense work) in single lengths from 2 ft to 21 ft. Maximum reach up to 60 ft using a Northrock shaft connector. The PRO 3HP is the recommended motor for any job requiring connected shafts beyond 30 ft — the extra torque prevents driveline sag on long reaches.

Multi-brand adapter chart

The PRO 3HP countershaft is universal. With the correct core adapter (Ref #21) and casing adapter (Ref #22), it runs shafts and heads from:
