The #1 Choice in Construction Compaction — OEM Parts for Every Multiquip Rammer
Multiquip's Mikasa-series tamping rammers have been the industry standard for soil compaction in North America for decades — trusted by utility contractors, pipeline crews, road builders, and landscapers across all 50 states. Whether you're working a narrow trench, backfilling a gas line, or compacting road base in a confined space, there's a Multiquip rammer built for the job and OEM replacement parts to keep it running.
DanseUSA has been an authorized Multiquip dealer since 1981, supplying genuine OEM parts for the full Mikasa rammer line: the lightweight MTR40HF for tight-space utility work, the standard-duty MTX50HD and MTX60HD, the best-selling MTX70HD, and the high-productivity MTX80HDR. Every part is sourced directly through official Multiquip supply channels — never aftermarket substitutes.

Carburetor Assembly
Diaphragm-type carburetors for Honda GX100 and GXR120 engines. Serial number break applies on MTX60HD (T-3423/T-3424). Fits MTX50HD, MTX60HD, MTX70HD, and MTX80HDR.
Clutch Assembly
Centrifugal clutch assemblies that engage at speed to drive the impact mechanism. Self-cleaning drum design. Key part 366348550 fits MTX50HD through MTX80HDR series.
Foot & Shoe Assembly
Laminated wood and tempered steel shoes in multiple widths. MTR40HF uses a narrower 5.9" shoe for trench work. MTX60HD: 10.4" (265W); MTX70HD/80HDR: 11.2" shoe. Steel replacement shoes also available.
Recoil Starter Assembly
Complete recoil starter assemblies and individual starter ropes for Honda GX100 engines. Common part 28400-Z0D-V04ZA covers MTX60HD and MTX70HD. Inspect rope and ratchet pawls regularly.
Air Cleaner Assembly
Cyclonic pre-cleaner systems capturing 98% of airborne dust. Primary elements, secondary elements, cleaner covers, and base assemblies. Service daily; replace primary element every 80–100 hours.
Fuel Tank & Handle Assembly
EPA-compliant redesigned fuel tanks, fuel tank caps, in-line fuel filters, and fuel strainers. Tachometer/hour meter assemblies. Fuel hoses (replace every 2 years regardless of visible condition).
Combination Lever Assembly
Multi-function combination levers controlling throttle, fuel supply, and engine shut-off in a single integrated unit. Available with or without throttle wire for MTX series and MTR40HF.
Guide Cylinder & Bellows
Piston rods, spring cylinders, cylinder guides, piston ends, main springs, and orange bellows for the oil-bath lubrication system. O-rings, oil gauges, and bellows clamps. Change oil bath every 200 hours.

Spark Plug & Ignition
NGK spark plugs (CR5HSB for GX100 / U16FSR-UB for GX100RTKRBF), ignition coil assemblies, stop switch cords, and flywheel components. Clean spark plug weekly; gap 0.024–0.028 in.
Decals, Nameplates & Labels
Replacement decal sets, operation decals, Proposition 65 warning labels, choke operation decals, and EPA evaporative compliance decals. Replace any damaged safety or operation decals immediately.
Service Tools
Clutch pullers, clutch mounters, piston rod holders, spring cylinder removers, and piston end removers for professional service and overhaul of the MTX rammer compaction mechanism.
Utility & Pipeline Installation
Compacting backfill around water, gas, electrical, and telecommunications lines in trenches. The MTR40HF's narrow 5.9" shoe is the preferred choice for tight-width trenches where larger rammers can't operate.
Road & Pavement Repair
Compacting cohesive soils and base material in road cuts and patch repairs. The MTX70HD and MTX80HDR deliver the impact force needed to achieve proper Proctor density in road base applications.
Foundation & Embankment Work
Compacting embankments, reservoir linings, and sub-base material for footings and foundations. Uniform compaction prevents settlement and structural failure in critical construction applications.
Landscaping & Hardscape
Compacting soil, gravel, and aggregate bases under pavers, retaining walls, and landscaping features. The MTR40HF is particularly popular with landscapers and hardscape contractors.
Municipal & Government Projects
Water/sewer infrastructure, road maintenance, and public works projects. Multiquip rammers are the standard specification on many municipal and DOT projects across the United States.

Manual-Accurate Part #s
All part numbers are cross-referenced against the latest official Multiquip parts manuals. We track revision updates so you always get the current supersession, not a discontinued number.
The MTX series (MTX50HD through MTX80HDR) are heavier-duty standard rammers using an oil-bath lubrication system in the bellows. They deliver higher impact force (2,316 lbf up to 3,505 lbf) through wider shoes (10.4" or 11.2") and are suited for trench compaction, road work, foundation preparation, and general cohesive soil compaction. Parts are not interchangeable between MTR and MTX series.
Often shared across MTX50HD / MTX60HD / MTX70HD / MTX80HDR: clutch assembly (366348550), air cleaner elements (366010070, 366010080), in-line fuel filter (16910Z4ES21), fuel tank cap (366350460), throttle wire (956100062), recoil starter assembly (28400-Z0D-V04ZA).
Model-specific (do not cross-order): foot/shoe assemblies (different widths — 10.4" vs 11.2"), carburetor assemblies (vary by model and serial number range), guide cylinder and spring cylinder components, crankcase assemblies.
Always confirm your exact model number before ordering. When in doubt, contact us at [email protected] with your model and serial number for fitment confirmation.
A (Optimum): Cohesive soils — clays, silty clays, sandy clays, clay gravels
B (Acceptable): Most mixed applications
C (Limited): Granular soils — pure sands and gravels
Rammers should not be used on ground harder than the machine can handle (rock beds), for driving pilings, or on steeply sloping surfaces. For granular soils (sands, gravels), a vibratory plate compactor is generally more effective.
Daily: Clean air cleaner elements; check oil bath level (sight glass midpoint); inspect bellows for leaks; check all fasteners.
Every 50 hours: Inspect and replace in-line fuel filter (16910Z4ES21); clean spark plug and adjust gap to 0.024–0.028 in.
Every 80–100 hours: Service primary air cleaner element (366010070) — wash, re-oil, and reinstall.
Every 200 hours: Change oil bath fluid (10W-30 SE/SF or higher, 0.65–0.69 qt). Change break-in oil at first 50 hours on new or rebuilt units.
Every 6 months: Clean fuel tank interior; inspect and replace fuel strainer (954406010) as needed.
Every 2 years: Replace all fuel hoses regardless of visible condition.
1. Throttle lever position — The lever must snap quickly to full START. Slowly advancing the throttle damages clutch springs. Always operate at full 3,800–4,100 rpm.
2. Clutch slipping — Inspect the clutch assembly (366348550 for MTX series). Replace if worn or slipping.
3. Excess oil in bellows — Overfilled oil bath resists the compaction stroke. Drain to the midpoint of the sight glass.
4. Broken spring — Inspect the spring cylinder. Replace the main spring if failed.
5. Soil over-compacted — Shut down, test soil with a penetrometer or probe. Over-compacted soil can prevent the rammer from developing the correct stroke.
All genuine OEM parts carry the Multiquip and Honda manufacturer warranty, which DanseUSA passes through to you at the time of purchase. Warranty coverage is subject to Multiquip's and Honda's standard terms. Parts damaged by misuse, improper installation, operating outside design specifications, or abuse are not covered.
